Siena FC Launches ‘Robur Femminile’ – A New Leadership Programme for Young Women in Sport

In accordance with the club's extensive investment in leadership development, Siena FC is proud to announce the launch of Robur Femminile – a initiative designed to shape the next generation of female leaders in sport.

The programme begins in September 2025 , with registrations now open..

“Robur Femminile is breaking down the barriers that too often stand between young women and leadership roles in sports. We do this together – with other clubs, other sports, because the challenges are the same, and so are the solutions. This is a powerful way to show that collaboration is key to real progress,”
- says Jenny Damgaard, Head of Girls’ and Women’s Football at Siena FC.

Why Robur Femminile?

Despite visible progress in recent years, the gender gap in sports leadership remains. Robur Femminile was created as a practical, inspiring, and community-driven response – aiming not only to educate, but to ignite change across sports disciplines in Siena.

By bringing together clubs and organisations from multiple sports, the programme recognises that empowerment is not a football issue – it’s a systemic one.
Through shared experiences and a united vision, Robur Femminile Robur Femminile aims to drive long-term transformation across the sporting landscape.

What’s in the Programme?

Running over four intensive weekends between September and December 2025 , the programme is built around four key modules:

  • Leadership & Decision-Making
  • Effective Communication
  • Health & Personal Wellbeing
  • Project Management & Strategic Thinking

Participants will engage in expert-led workshops, hands-on leadership assignments, and be mentored by established female leaders from Siena’s sports, business, and academic communities.

Learning, Networking & Real Impact

Robur Femminile offers far more than classroom learning. Participants will:

  • Join interactive sessions led by local and international experts
  • Attend cross-sector networking events
  • Take part in real-world leadership practice within sports environments
  • Learn in both Italian and English, preparing them for opportunities at home and abroad

“Siena FC works extensively with leadership development, and this initiative is fully in line with that work. Our goal is to build a strong, inclusive network of young women in Siena – connected by sport,” Damgaard explains.
